Remote Input Select and Volume Controller

Welcome to the home of the APOX remote control input select and volume controller boards for you audiophile DIY'ers. We are assembling a great series of kits that should give you hours of fun assembling. and years of listening enjoyment!

Well we've had alot of progress on the APOX series. Below are pictures of the prototype that we built on April 6th,2003
Let me describe what you are looking at:
This project is a remote controlled input selector/volume controller/pre-amplifier with two +/-60 VDC balanced power supplies. There are 5 different boards in this project.

The APOX-IR1 is the board with the LCD and the optical encoders and infrared remote control receiver.
The APOX-IS1 is the input select board shown with the attached XLR and RCA connectors
The APOX2 is a series attenuator ladder with 23 volume level (and mute)
The big round things are toroidal transformers (from Victoria Magnetics (2X60VAC 80VA)) for a nice quiet power supply.
The little boards attached to the transformers are the balanced line stage power supplies
and the board with the big yellow capacitors is a Balanced Line Stage named the "Bride of SonOfZen (BOSOZ)"
which was purchased as raw boards from PCB-Design

The first prototype is almost built
