First of all, I'd like to thank ALW from www.diyaudio.com for giving me a jump
start on this design by offering me his schematics. Thanks alot ALW!
Please visit Andys web page at ALW Audio. Also all people in the U.K., Please order Andy's version of this super regulator. I agreed with Andy that I would not sell my version of the regulators in the U.K. This board features a common linear regulator to reduce power supply ripple. It is then followed by a Walt Jung type high performance audio regulator. This regulator is configured as a three terminal device and should be located very close to your circuitry. It was meant to directly replace a 78xx and 79xx three terminal regulator. If you cannot place it close to the circuitry. you can wire in sense pin connections for improved performance. It is possible to bypass the pre-regulator if cost is an issue. Or if your power supply already is regulated, and you cannot afford to drop another 2.5 volts If you are looking for extremely low noise voltage regulation and very high line regulation. Then stop looking |
